What is post-secondary education?
Post-secondary education refers to any form of education or training that takes place after completing high school or GED/HiSET. It includes a variety of paths such as community college for degrees or certificates and various training programs that yield industry-recognized credentials like certification program, adult education courses, and online learning platforms. The goal is often to gain advanced knowledge, skills, and qualifications to enhance career opportunities and personal development.
What kind of financial aid is available?
Various types of financial aid are available for college and training programs to help students manage the cost of their education, and many programs in Boston are free.
What if I don’t want to go to college? What are my other options?
If you choose not to go to college, there are many alternative pathways you can explore to build a successful career and develop your skills. We have access to various training programs in Boston that are provided at no cost. Choosing the right path depends on your interests, skills and career goals. Many successful careers start with alternative education and experiences.
How long are these training programs?
Depending on the program, they can last anywhere from 2 weeks up to 12 months.

What is the age limit?
We work with any person who is 18 years old or older.
Are these post-secondary education options available to me if I don’t live in Boston?
Several Boston-based programs do not require city residency, allowing residents of surrounding communities to participate.
What type of assistance does X-Cel offer?
X-Cel coaches meet with each candidate individually. They help the candidate decide which career path is best for them. They help match them with a post-secondary program which will prepare them for their career goal. They support the candidate through the application process, including applying for financial aid, if needed. Once the candidate is enrolled in a post-secondary program the coach continues to communicate with them and help obtain any tutoring or support needed so they will successfully complete their program.
