X-Cel Training Programs (in partnership with the City of Boston)

X-Cel plays a significant role in several City of Boston funded programs. Most of this work is being done in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD) and the Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE).

City Academy

There are currently two career tracks: Commercial Driver’s License [CDL] and Emergency Medical Technician [EMT]. X-Cel is involved in the pre-screening, job-readiness Bridge instruction and curriculum development, student support during the technical training portion, and then job-placement and follow-up, as needed. Currently, there are two EMT cycles per year (August and January) and one CDL cycle (August).

Bridge to Green Jobs

X-Cel provides job-readiness Bridge instruction and curriculum development focused on helping participants earn a job as an air-sealer/weatherization technician. X-Cel also provides student support during the technical training portion. There are multiple cohorts each year.
